Some of the newer step types, like Table (TA), have no "classical" shortcut.

Enable styled text in all documentation fields for steps

With styled text you can change the color of selected words or characters, the font size, the background color, and the font style.

Styled text

The formatting of the text is saved within the TPT file. The report will display the formatted text.

Copy and paste of formatted text works, but only within the same TPT instance and not with formatted text from other sources (Word, HTML etc.).

Undo/Redo of text format changes is supported.

Select as font size either 10, 20, or 30 pt. The font size is used in the message box step that will show up during the test execution to inform the tester or to ask him/her to do anything. More about the message box step, see Step Type - Message box.

Dialog Auto Answers

Dialog auto answers react automatically to message boxes of TPT that inform or warn you. An example of such a message box is the Welcome screen that is automatically loaded whenever you start TPT.

If you do not want to react to this Welcome screen every time you start TPT, select the check box Do not show this screen on every start of TPT that is displayed at the bottom of the screen. The suppressed Welcome screen is then listed in the Dialog Auto Answer section.

To activate the screen again, select the entry and click Delete the selected Auto Answer Preference .

Obsolete Features

Enable obsolete feature "Explicit 'Time Signal' in Signal Definition Wizard"

The Signal Definition Wizard in the step list supported an external time signal that specified the time axis. This feature will be removed in future versions of TPT since modern file formats contain the time axis anyway, see Step List - Signal Definition Wizard.

Variables

You can store variables globally, so all TPT project files of the current TPT installation can handle the variables. You can, for example, specify a variable for a basic directory and reuse the variable name in any directory field of the Execution Configuration dialog. For more information about global variables, see Global Variables.
